Tieto Names Greta Koehler Head of Growth, Americas
The newly created role reinforces Tieto’s focus on deep client partnerships and outcome-based growth across the Americas.
Joerg Granacher, who leads Tieto's business in the Americas, came to us this spring with a mandate: lead the search for a growth leader who’s capable of building a multibillion-dollar business as Tieto expands across the Americas. Nobody had held this role prior to Joerg describing it to us. Our only reference point was his own bold vision for where the business needed to go.
Without a doubt, this search was right in our wheelhouse. The mandate was courageous and there was only one shot to get it right.
We spent the early weeks on calibration before we spent a single hour sourcing. What Joerg needed in this leader went beyond anything we would find on a resume. He needed someone with a track record of high performance, an infectious and caring leadership style, and with serious range in their capabilities.
Success in this role was going to require someone who could sit comfortably in a boardroom shaping a technology strategy with a client's CEO, then turn around an hour later and ask hard questions about pipeline health.
Greta Koehler is who we narrowed in on, with her 16 years building client relationships and driving growth, most of it navigating the complex executive relationships this role demands. Greta’s reputation for consistently driving results through her balance of rigor and empathy was perfect for what Tieto needed.
Tieto announced the hire this week, and Joerg put it well: “Greta’s depth in healthcare and her track record of building trusted, senior-level relationships make her the right person to help our clients move from ambition to lasting impact.”
Greta, for her part, said something that told us we'd found the right person long before we read the press release: "I've focused on understanding what matters most to each client and aligning the right strategy, people, and solutions to deliver real outcomes."
That's the whole job, said better than the job description ever could.
