OUR STORY

The founder and values that inspired Sidekick

THE FOUNDER

Brad Ingber launched Sidekick Executive Search after 16 years hiring leaders and building recruiting teams in high-growth environments.

During that time he led searches across industries and guided C-level executives on their most important hiring decisions. What those years made clear is that the work lands differently when the person doing the search cares about the outcome as much as the client or candidate on the other side of the table.

Brad’s entrepreneurial mindset and comfort leveraging modern tools are what led to Sidekick. A boutique retained search firm, underpinned by rapidly evolving technology, and run by those who believe the human side of this work is what actually makes the difference.

THE VALUES

This chair belonged to Brad’s grandfather Hy. He spent his career as a law clerk in the Hennepin County court system. He was the person who made the system work for those around him, without needing anyone to notice.

An antique armchair with a wooden frame and grey tufted upholstery, set against a plain beige wall with a wooden floor.

“A Familiar Face — Himie Ingber”, Hennepin Lawyer, 1976.

A 1976 profile in the Hennepin Lawyer described Hy as someone attorneys sought out by name, whose loyalty to the work and to the people around him was remarked upon by judges and colleagues alike.

He had a law degree at a time when no other clerk in the system did. He never used it to become a lawyer because he enjoyed the impact of being a clerk much more.

The chair above is in Brad’s office today. It's a symbol of his grandfather’s values, which are embedded into the DNA of Sidekick.
